FYI - The August 2004 issue of Guitar Player has a new column (pg 114) by Robben that covers 'snappy, sliding double bends'.[/i]

Jim: There have been at least two, maybe three other Robben columns in the mag in previous months. They are similar in length and tone.

I have one of them but I didn't know there was more than one before this one. If you happen to know what months the other ones were, let me know.

From what I understand, this is going to be a semi-regular thing.

I wish Robben would get more into the essence of his playing in this column. Why and how does he play what he plays. and what is required to get to that level. Cool

I agree. The column doesn't seem to me to really be from Robben. I noticed its always "as told to <the author>". Its more like he gives someone at GP a little tidbit that he may personally like but the GP writer really is the one who runs with it.

Yeah, this whole thing started back with the new revamping of GP in the March issue.
To collect the whole series you'll need
Five Note Freedom March '04
Jammin' Pentatonics April '04
Talking Guitar June '04
Snappy,Sliding Double Bends July '04

I also hope that it will get deeper as time goes by!

There is also a Robben Ford "Guest Lesson" that appears in the July 2004 issue of Total Guitar from the UK.

This lesson is blues-based and Robben plays nine examples on the CD that comes with the magazine.
