Folks, I just found out about a new release that has Robben doing his thing. The guy is Steve Weingart who is the keyboardist for Dave Weckel's band. His solo release has Robben on four tracks.

Here's a sample: http://www.cdbaby.com/mp3lofi/weingart-04.m3u

Sounds like another one to add to the archives. Man, how come there isn't any place you can hear and find out about this stuff? The guy who plays drums on this is playing with a friend of mine who turned me on to it. Gee, how else you gonna know?

I actually have the Steve Weingart album. Robben plays really well on his four tracks, particularly on a track called Back Street Driver, but the rest leaves me a bit cold. I'm not so fond of Weingart's synth sounds. As I got it about the same time as Jing Chi 3D it's just languishing in the pile on top of the CD player. I found about it through Abstractlogix.com, a site I recommend if you're into the fusion side of Robben's work.
