|
|
I have seen several times Robben mention that when he could not use Dumbles for his shows, he would try to get Fender Twins, especially the "red knobs" ones, as he thinks that they have the best overdrive stage Fender ever made. Would anyone have informations about those amps , or point me out to a web site with such information ? Like when those amps were manufactured, the controls available, speakers, their price on the market at the moment etc.
Thanks in advance. |

Regarding the "Evil Twin"..
A few yrs ago I saw Robben do a Clinic at a music store in Lynnwood, WA ... He used "The Twin Amp"(ie Evil Twin).. Hearing him playing along with his "music minus one" tracks for Tiger Walk, I can honestly say I didn't miss his Dumble at all.. His tone. touch, dynamism, and musicality clearly came thru this amp as well..

in 1999 I saw Robben in Germany and his Dumble went down after a few songs and he had to switch to a Twin. The only difference was that the Twin didn't have that what I call "bass-attack", sounded a bit "thinner". After some seconds you forgot about that. |
