A buddy of mine has the chance to possibly pick up a DR-45 head for a really good price and I am helping him do a bit of research. Does anyone here know what Mp3 examples are what on the Fulton Webb webpage? There is like nine examples with Eric Johnson playing through different models but I have no idea which is which as I am not familiar with this amp. Some of the examples are awesome while others are dark and fizzy. Any help would be appreciated if anybody knows what is what on the sight. Here is the link:
I've briefly played one or two. They are based here in Austin, nice guys. They weren't my cup of tea - not D*mble-type at all. More like Marshall - probably why EJ likes them. BTW, I saw EJ trying out some old guitars in their shop one day - that was cool.
There's a guy in a regionally successful band called "Reckless Kelly" that plays a Fulton-web at their gigs. He sounds great through it.
That was the impression I had, that they were more of a Marshall sort of sound. This surprises me as my friend generally goes for more of the Dumble thing...so when he told me he was considering a DR-45, I thought it odd to some degree. Thanks for the post.
