sweeeeeeet! Nice playing Scott, and awesome tone. I think I just played that clip three times in a row.. maybe I should just hit the "loop" button on my winamp. heh
Did I read that clip was using a Fuchs mod'd Deluxe Reverb w/ 6V6 ?
BTW, not sure if you got my email or not.. but what are you using for a power cable (to power your ODS) these days? I remember a thread on the gear page discussing this topic, but can't recall what the results of your "tests" were.
Thanks,

Lovely tone - just what I'm looking for - very Robben Ford sounding! Achieving such a tone is quite elusive.
I have a Fender Deluxe Reverb 11 amp with Fender Tele Plus and 52 Tele reissue. If I could get an RF type of tone with these I'd be happy. Trouble I find is that playing at home I can't have the amp turned up to drive it and it seems that amp tones can differ significantly between low volume (home use) and louder (gig use) settings. (and I'm not giging)
Perhaps Scott you can help me - to what extent do I need any distortion added to achieve the tone you have? Is it just a matter of driving the power amp valves a little or does the signal remain clean and undistorted in the amp?

Scott, really nice. Have you mentioned anywhere here what your recording set-up is? I'm curious to know. _________________ iamthewalrus

Scott, the tone is killer. The phrasing, though, is just great. That was a really nice sound. We're still waiting for that CD!

First off, I think Dave's new clips totally cop the Ford tone...
The gain is preamp IMO. Maybe a good box like an AC Boost or HAO Rumble mod can get you close! You do need to move some air (loud) though....
Here is a Fordish one from me... http://www.scottlernermusic.com/music/SLX30Fusion1.mp3
Good luck!

My latest rig is SM57 into Groove Tubes Brick preamp into EMU1820M breakout box and soundcard. Adobe Audition 1.5 software and various plugins for Verb and delay....
Thanks!!!
My new clips using the Groove Tubes mic preamp are located on my site in the music section at the bottom in the new Fuchs samples section. All except Josie are new.
