Hey guys. Man was i exited when i found out about this place. I just can't get enough of Scott's playing and any place i can learn more about it is great...especially if there are a lot of players here. I can't wait to share transcriptions of Scott's stuff and hopefully i can gleem a little more about him and his music from some of you guys.
As I'm sure most of you do, I play guitar. I started out playing grunge in 94...mastered that in about a week and then got into my dad's classic rock records. From there i got into blues and spent a good long while trying to sound like SRV until i discovered blues fusion players like Robben Ford that led me to check out straight ahead jazz and jazz fusion. I just graduated from the University of North Florida with a degree in Jazz Studies where i studied with a great straight ahead player named Barry Greene, and also got to take arranging with "Lil' Scotty's" old arranging/improv teacher Dr. Bill Prince.
Anyway, that's enough about me...let's talk about Scott.
I own everything Scott's ever released as a leader or co-leader; cds, books and videos; legit copies btw...help feed Scott Henderson...BUY his music. I've also been working on digging up recordings of everything else he's ever been a sideman on; I think i've got 5 or 6 of those and a few more on my list. Perhaps we can share discographies at some point as none of the ones on the web are identical, so i suspect there are other things out there that i don't know about. That's all i can think to say at the moment...i just hope this is an active board.
