Witness the FURY that is Hydravian:
From left to right: Doug V on 2nd guitar, Mike W on drums, myself on lead guitar (a Charvel with BEACH CLOTHES!), and Kevin W on bass. Circa 1989. Bad promo pictures don't get you gigs, they get you laughs.
I've got more I'll post later... _________________ http://pod.ath.cx/ |

Here's my second one.
This was taken several years before the first one you saw so
I'm guessing 1985-1986 timeframe. Our then bass player,
Rod W (now in Phoenix somewhere) is off to the side
unseen.
I still have several hundred pictures to go through but of the ones
I've scanned this is notable for several things:
(1) this was the Cedar-Riverside Community Peoples Center
in Minneapolis. Mainly used for performance art, plays, classes,
etc.
(2) this was the first of several "Music Parties" that Kaas for
Alarm productions put on back in the day. They'd rent a PA
and then have bands come in.
There was also a "zine" associated with this, "The 10 BM Report".
The pictures in THAT are truly funny but I don't know where my
copies are.
(3) The parties would consist of seven or eight bands playing
followed by "jam rooms" where interested musicians could jam
with members of the different bands. A neat idea in principle.
In practice....well, we had fun anyway.
(4) We played four or five of those things, the last one was in
1989 at the Varsity Theatre. A much better venue since
there was a stage and actual stage lights and a mixing
board and a real PA. The very next night Two Live Crew
played there and the place was shut down permanently
for live music. So we were the last band to play there
actually.
I have tons more pictures but since the contest says two are
the max these are the two you get. _________________ http://pod.ath.cx/ |

This is the best I can come up with - early summer, 1977. I'm the hippy with the pony tail on the right. Not that embarrassing, but a definite time-capsule just the same. Tom

ok, here goes...
Surprise photo, c 1996, taken first thing in the morning, with Epiphone Chet Atkins nylon string (bad guitar). Note skinny legs and "mullet" hair cut (totally frizzed out as I'd just woken up).
At trio gig, c 2000, with trusty Strat and no dress sense. A really bad pose too. Note that if you ever have old jeans that you want to get dyed red, it's best to take the existing color into account, or else you end up with the pink fashion disaster shown above. Mitigating factors - pointy shoes .
Not for the comp and not a great shot but proof I can actually look normal. With Soundworks custom tele.
