Hi All,
Here's a couple from my distant past.
This is from the late 60's at a high school dance, I was in grammar school at the time. That's me with the paisley orange vest striking a pose with the Silvertone on the far right. In keeping with the times, the name of this band was Gypsy's Overland Caravan
Move forward to the 70's, not holding any instruments but this is a promo picture of the cover band I played in Waikiki with standing outside the club we held for several years. What you can't see in the picture is that the double knit is orange and the ruffled shirts are yellow. I had just joined and my orange pants hadn't been made yet so I'm standing in the back. Most of these guys were jazzers and had degrees but were playing covers for a living. 6 nights a week until 4:00 in the morning. Funny thing, the band was named White Light from a line in Stairway to Heaven.

Okay, one more from the high school power trio. Still playing the pawn shop Silvertone guitar and amp from when I was 12. I cut a Sunn logo from something and pasted it to the amp and covered the headstock with warped checkerboard. The mike is held to the stand with coat hanger wire. This was at a battle of the bands. We played TYA's I'm Going Home and thought we were hot stuff compared to the bubblegum bands, even if the audience didn't care for it, that is until the second night when Larry Hertzberg (went on to become an LA session cat) came over from Honolulu and made me want to break my guitar in half. There's that ephiphany that comes for all of us at some point and this was mine.

you just need "" at the end of the link
you can hit "preview" to check if it's worked before submitting the post!

i think you're tring to link to the page, rather than the image itself - the link to the image is...
http://www.fenderforum.com/userphotos/photo.php?id=10082
but it doesn't work withing the vb script tags cos it's a php page i think, and the photo is just being referenced, rather than linked to directly. (some php bod will be able to explain this better). the actual photo is called dilliespurplesmall.jpg and that's what you'd need to be linking to. i tried a few different combinations of addresses, but couldn't get it to work.

Thanks for your patience, simeon! Scott & I grew up (threw up?) & played in an assortment of bad bar bands in the same town, though never at the same time in the same band. Although his tone is feeble, his phrasing is infantile. And I mean that in the nicest way. And his sauce is in San Bernadino. _________________ Rat-Soup Eatin' ^@$%@*()(! |

OK here are mine . Are you ready for the attack of the mullet ?
And what about showing up for a rehearsal just out of bed ? Talk about psychological preparation for your bandmates :
Hope I didn't ruin your day. |
