Hey Scott
Have you ever thought about doing an album using drum loops? Not to replace a drummer but just because they can sound cool as there own thing?
I like what Jeff beck did with them on a few albums.
You mean you like what his producers did - I don't think Jeff had to program anything.
I wouldn't go techno, simply because he already did it. Kinda like Kinsey doing the vocoder thing after Zawinul. I'm really trying my best not to follow anyone's footsteps.

I guess there are so many things we "could" do.

You're welcome! Actually I like some of it, but even if I wanted to go there, I'm not equipped as a producer and would have to hire one, which I've never done and never will.
And speaking as a person who has experience working with loops in the context of jazz, I can say without hesitation that they completely ruin the more subtile aspects of the music.
