Hey Scott
I have recently been comparing od pedals.
I have a plimsoul, sd9, and bb preamp.
You keep your strat volume on 9 right? I think I read that.
In my opinion the sd9 sounds better then the other pedals from 1 to 9 but for some reason when the volume on the guitar is on 10 the other ones sound better to me.

I can see why you use the sd9. You can roll the volume down on your guitar and play complex chords but with the others the chords get mushy.

But last night at rehearsal I would have sounded better with my volume on 0!

Thanks Scott[/i]

The SD9 does clean up better than most distortion pedals when turning down the guitar. I notice a difference when turning the guitar down to 9 with any pedal, or with amp distortion - to me it sounds smoother on the top end with less fizz.

There are many nights when I feel like I'm just noodling, and turning the guitar down to 0 every once in awhile would help. Ever notice how horn players just drop their hands to their sides sometimes? I never see guitar players do that.
