Hey Scott
I bought a clone of a klon called the archer.
Your right about the high gain sound being great.
I'm curious if you have tried yours as a boost too.?
I haven't heard you mention it for a boost and I thought it sounded good for this too but maybe a little muddy.

I tried it as a boost but it didn't work for me - it doesn't clean up very well when turning the guitar down like the RC Booster does. But as a high gain pedal it rocks! I still love the SD-9 more on stage because I think it sounds clearer on the neck pickup, but they're both great pedals.
