Hi Scott,
Could you share your thoughts on Suhr's roasted body and roasted neck, I see a few SH models with these specs. I also believe you're playing one in the Master Class video you did. Is there a tonal difference, does it accelerate wood aging or something?
also what color is the body of the guitar in that video, vintage white or Olympic white or, other white? It's a great looking guitar.
When they roast a neck or body, it removes moisture from the wood, in the same way that wood looses moisture over long periods of time. I never bought into that "aged guitars sound better" shit, since Hendrix and all those guys were playing brand new guitars off the shelf, but the roasting process is definitely doing something. My guitars with roasted necks and bodies have a better tone than the ones that don't - I have no idea why. Also, I can't always make a fair comparison, because on a couple guitars which were roasted, the new version of the Suhr SSC system was installed too. I've had that switched out on all my guitars and it sounds better than the first version.
