There is a small low wattage combo amp called the Bogner Duende that might fit the bill on what you are looking for.

It has 1x12 speaker, effects loop, crunch channel, class a/b and 24watts switchable to 12W.

The problem is that it's now discontinued, so it might be hard to get your hands on one to test it. I have seen them for sale in Reverb and Ebay.

I'm happy with my Carr, ViceRoy and he's got a switch 3w/12w if you don't wanna play loud. Nobody believes its only 12w, when I play outside. Clean sound is really really great.

Scott if you're after a Fender style amp for quieter gigs with a bit of crunch, why not try a.... Fender?

The relatively new Deluxe (22w) and Princeton (12w) from the 68 Custom series (silverface look) are designed to break up a bit earlier, and also have different speakers (Celestion) than the 65 Blackface re-issues (Jensen). I had the Princeton and it was great for recording, could also cover jazz gigs (not all of course) with a drummer with the breakup controlled by the guitar’s volume and pick attack.

btw the Deluxe is based on the Deluxe Reverb (6V6 power tubes, 22w) not to be confused with the Hot Rod or Blues Deluxe (6L6, 40w) in case anyone isn’t sure

What's wrong with the Badger series of amps? There's also the Tone King amps (royalist) which have amazing attenuators in them.

I found a good solution Scott:
Fender Bass Breaker 15.
15 watts, all tube, one channel. Has 3 "gain structures" that allow you to choose low, medium and high gain with the preamp. 1X12
Has an effects loop.

You mentioned something like the blues junior, but this has an efx loop!
Seems great for small gigs.

Hi Scott, any news on searching a low power tube amp? Did you have the chance to try the mesa boogie rectoverb 25 or the fender bassbreaker or other low power amps? What about the tone king falcon grande?

There have been some great suggestions in this thread. But.... My attempt was to get a builder or builders, to send Scott an amp so he can try it out. If I had the means, I would definitely do so. Like I mentioned in the opening thread, I sent some gear to Holdsworth because I heard he missed his old VG-8. The suggestions are great and maybe Scott will find the time to go and audition some of the amps we mentioned but if I were a builder of amps, I would build an amp to Scotts specs and arrange to have it sent to him. Pretty good person to say, "Scott uses my low wattage amp..."😃😃😃. Just an idea..

Thanks to Chris and everyone for all the suggestions. Honestly I'd rather go hear pre-made amps than have something built that I may or may not like. When I get home from this tour I'll definitely check out some of these amps. Thanks again!

Hey, my pleasure man. I think it was Kramer that once said, "Occassionally I like to help the humans." At this point I'll try and resist saying anything else Seinfeld or cast members related. Can't say anything nice? Don't say anything... I don't always love up to that but I'm trying.
