Hi Scott
I have been experementing with my delay levels live.
I like the way your sound is not too dry but you also don't get washed out and your notes are clear.
1. Do you find that the cleaner the tone the less delay you have to have or it starts getting in the way?
2. Do you have any tips for setting delay levels live so you are wet enough but don't get washed out?
Yes, the cleaner the tone, the more you'll hear the delay. I have an SVC volume control between my FX and the wet amp, and I'm adjusting it for some tunes - in dryer rooms I have to adjust it more frequently. I never use delay by itself - there's always reverb with it, which helps to diffuse the delay. Also, I can adjust the EQ of the FX with the preamp of the wet amp - I make it a bit darker than the dry tone, which helps keep it out of the way.
