Hi Scott,
It was fun to hear about Polnareff in guitarwank (it didn't expect that name to be dropped, it was quite a surprise).
As a french listener, I think I can describe him better than "a french Rod Stewart" (which I agree to disagree with). He wrote good songs in the sixties (good music, sometimes even more than great, and funny lyrics).

He turned a bit disco in the 70s 80s, but the writing was still often good.

He made a legend out of himself since he disappeared (money/producer issues). Some said he was in America, others said he was hidden somewhere in France, or even that he was dead. He did abolutely nothing for more than 20 years, except saying he was worknig on new material. He is supposed to release an album soon, and he threw a single last year, which I think is total crap

He also is a megalomaniac, but seems to be a nice guy at the same time.
But the main reason for this thread is in his 2016 tour's band. Tony McAlpine hase been mentionned, but I heard nothing about his drummer. Guess who it is....
Oh wait... I just realized what he's been doing for 20 years when he was away from France.
I guess he just stayed home in case someone would call him. Clever!
