Hey Scott, I heard you mention on Guitarwank that you'd once done a session with the great Anthony Jackson. Did it ever get released? Would like to hear that. Also, it would be good to get your take on Anthony in general. Are you a fan of those amazing Steve Khan albums he played on?
Thanks
Matt
I played on a session for Rob Whitlock, a keyboard player from Florida who now lives in San Diego. He hired me, Vinny, Anthony, and even Michael Brecker to overdub later. Anthony played his ass off as always, and he was a lot of fun to work with. Steve sent me the albums he did with Anthony and it's great stuff. The name of Rob's album is Sketchin'.
The live cd he put out with Jackson and Chambers doing all the Eyewitness stuff a few years ago.. wow, Anthony is unbelievably brilliant on it.. and kudos to Khan for giving him the room on all his records to do what he does. Definitely some magic on those original Eyewitness albums.. and Crossings with Brecker has some really great stuff.. Khan changed his whole way of playing.. from being one of those 70's fuzak types, to the chordal approach he has now. Great stuff.
