John,

Go to www.tonemerchants.com

Seems like you can get a Classic Suhr for around $1600 - $1800 depending on options.

I got mine at Tonemerchants, shipped from CA to KY with no problems!

Get the phone number off the website and talk to Ed ... he's the owner of tonemerchants and he'll guide you. There is no comparison between Fender and Suhr. Suhr is sooo much better in quality, playability, and sound. John Suhr used to be a Fender Masterbuilder and has much more quality control making his guitars. Spend a little more money and get a much better guitar. With Suhr, you can choose everything from the fretboard radius, fret size, pickup config, neck profile...etc.
With Fender you get what's on the rack... and it may be guitar number 650 of the 1000 guitars that were made that day...

I'm a James Tyler man myself.

See guitar here:

http://www.daimone-sound.com/xtra.html

(Not that I have anything against John's guitars--they're great!)

BTW, I went with John and a couple other guys to see Carl Verheyen at the Coach House in SJC one night. We had a blast! John (it goes w/o saying) is a very knowledgeable guy.

Cool

I'd love to have an "Artic Shmear" Tyler with a rosewood fretboard! That's probably one of the coolest finishes I've ever seen on a guitar.

I'd also like to have the Sadowsky Jim Hall model.... Whoa Shocked What a beautiful finish... Check out www.sadowsky.com if you haven't seen it. I actually got to play one at the Sadowsky shop last year. It's great!!!

Check out the Andersen Gold Standard Archtop at www.andersenguitars.com and drool over that baby! Unreal!!!!

I own an alder classic with brazilian rose fingerboard, 1088 bridge, and V60's, in a ocean turquoise metallic finish. It is easily the best guitar i've ever owned/played, a beautiful instrument, plain and simple.

What do you guys think of a new Suhr Guitar and Amp discussion site? One with software like this board, phpbb with live chat, and with John participating on regular basis? Question

Sounds cool, as long as there are enough people participating to keep it interesting. Lately, the discussion board at the site has been a little slow in terms of posting.
Would this new board replace the existing one, or just be its own separate thing?

It would be nice, even if I do not have any Suhr guitar or amp... yet.
