Hey Scott

On your “outside the blues” master class did you mic up your live rig or did you add reverb and delay at the mixing board?
You get a really nice tone. When I record my live sound with ambience coming out of the guitar speaker it is really hard to get the right mix of delay and dry signal.

I never add FX when I record - I add them when mixing. It's not a good idea to record anything you're stuck with - a lot of guys don't even like to commit to a tone, thus the popularity of IR's which you can swap out after you record, or some guys split the signal and record the direct guitar so they can re-amp. I'm not that picky, I usually commit to a tone, but not FX unless they're part of the tone, like an octavia or ring modulator.

Do you find that your wet/dry rig let’s you feel more of that “bigness” that you get when you record? When I add reverb in my daw it sounds huge but when coming out of the amp speaker live it never sounds as glorious.
You said that wet/dry was more about the touch responsiveness of your amp but does it also have the added bennifit of hearing ambience effects more like you do in the studio when playing live?

The main benefit from a wet/dry rig is how much better the amp responds by not using the loop and the same speaker for FX, but a side benefit is the whole thing sounds bigger, probably just from taking up more air space and having a foot or so of separation between wet and dry. When you get about 4 feet in front of the rig, it sounds like it's all coming from the same place but it's a wider sound image.
