Well, the story as I remember it went something along the lines of Shawn being up onstage with Ted and they were "cuttin' heads". Ted would play something then Shawn would play, typical "call and response" thing. So then at some point Ted thought he would "blow" Shawn away... Ummmmmmm no..... So after Ted did his thing (or tried to), Shawn did HIS thing which was probably that diminished or even augmented string skipping thing he does and basically Ted walked off stage or something similar. Shawn goes backstage to meet Ted and chat and basically Ted was like, "Blah....." and wouldn't talk to Shawn afterwards. It was probably CRAZY embarrassing for Ted!!!
Best,
Chris
I read a similar story about Ted and Frank Marino.
I can't even imagine Nugent on stage with Shawn Lane or Frank Marino. Nugent was the lamest guitar player of his generation, and I was making fun of his attempts at playing when I was just a kid, while listening to Johnny Winter, Rick Derringer, Billy Gibbons, Tommy Bolin, and all the seriously great rock n' roll guitarists. Not to mention the mega-famous ones like Hendrix. Nugent among those guys is like Kenny G among Miles, Coltrane, etc.
Maybe I'd be nicer to him if he wasn't a walking piece of shit.... nah, he'd still suck.
Well, let's end this thread before I get shot with a crossbow - unless anyone has something to add about hollow body guitars.
