Hey Scott
It would be a great compositional learning tool to see the basic chart that you made for some of your recorded trio tunes. Not like transcriptions after the fact.. but more just the chart that you made for yourself and the rest of the band to learn the tune. Then I could see how you conceive of the composition apart from the performance.
I'll bet other people would be interested in this too.
I would pay for the downloads if you ever wanted to do this.
For instance it must have been fascinating for you to see what Joe Zawinal presented to the band prior to the tune being worked out and performed.

Charts like that for my music don't exist. I memorize everything, so there's no need to write a chart. I write a bass chart only, which without the harmony wouldn't be of any use to look at.
I have some Zawinul charts, but he just printed them from the computer. They have no chord symbols, so all the chords are written in notation. I learned more from transcribing his music off the record and using chord symbols to notate it than I learned from his charts, other than some cool voicings. _________________ www.online-discussion.com
