I was laughing my ass off he his so practical, and comical at the same time WOW what a guy and what a story the Wrecking Crew, they all make money but none of them was acknowledge for their work.
Tommy was one of my teachers when I went to MI in 1980. He was one of the nicest people ever - totally genuine and unselfish, and really enjoyed teaching. And of course, really, really funny! He was Santa at every Christmas party, and if he knew you well enough, enjoyed saying dirty shit while dressed as Santa - some of his antics put me on the floor.
I couldn't find it on YouTube, but Tommy went on the Gong Show dressed in a lacy pink tutu which didn't leave much to the imagination.... kinda scarred me for life but it was hilarious. He played some silly guitar licks and was gonged immediately.
Too many stories to remember with that guy, but we had John Pisano as a guest on GuitarWank, and he told a great story about Tommy and Joe Pass. I was lucky to be around when both of them were teaching at MI.
