This is a really a brilliant composition and the guitar playing is amazing on this track.
The harmony in the second half of the tune is really dense and unlike anything I have heard. I am wondering if it was composed on keyboard or guitar?

I can take credit for the playing, but Anthem was written by Willis. It's the only song on X which didn't come from a jam. Willis decided to erase everything from the jam except the drums, and start from scratch. That was fine with us, because the original jam wasn't that good. I really like Anthem too, I think it's one of Willis's best tunes. He composes mostly on keyboards.
