You've mention how you keep the tone control of a bridge pickup low, so it doesn't have the drastic difference between your neck pickup on your strat.

So I'm just wondering how you deal with it when you play a tele.
Do you fiddle with tone control a lot? or do you just keep one pickup position? Does it have a master tone control?

My Tele has a master tone for both pickups - theres no way I could play it live. I hate the knobs with no numbers on them - I dial it in for the song I'm recording and then try not to touch the knobs. I like the tone though!
