Hey Scott

I notice on your albums that there is a really cohesive flow.
Do you have any tips for creating a good song order for a cd? Or is it more just trial and error until you find something that you like?

It's pretty simple conceptually, but not always easy to do. I try to avoid putting tunes together with the same key, tempo, main guitar tone, guitar effects, and anything which would make the listener say "wait a minute, I just heard that on the last song."

Sometimes you have to sacrifice one of those things for the other, whichever you think is the most important. There's a lot of luck involved - even if a song is in a key, it doesn't mean the last chord is in that key, and hopefully the song you want to go next doesn't start with that chord... I felt I was pretty lucky on Vibe Station and it's a good song order - I haven't been as lucky on other albums.
