Greetings,
This is my first post in this forum, so I hope I'm in the right section. (Looks like I just missed the cutoff for the latest Questions for Scott discussion).
Anyway, I'm a big fan of Scotts, and after hearing him praise the Boss SE70 I picked one up. It's a nice box, but I haven't been able to coax anything too surprising out of it yet. From Scott's Gear section, it looks like he's running his SE70 inside the amp's effects loop. So is he just using it for reverbs and delays? I had the impression from an interview I read awhile back that he was using the analog distortion section as well. Anyone have any cool settings they'd like to share?

I've now had a bit of luck starting with the "Gt Lead 2" preset in the SE70(#90 in my software version). This preset uses the Gt Multi 2 algorithm. I edited the Crunch drive level down to 86, and raised the OD tone to +6. In the EQ section, I edited the HiMidEQ down to +2dB. Finally, there was too much delay in the original preset, so I lowered the delay time to 200 mS, and dropped the feedback to 3. This is getting closer to the vintage tone with plenty of bite that I'm after, but I'm lousy with parametric EQ's, so there's lots more experimentation to do.
So does anybody else in this forum actually use an SE70, or should I just drop this topic? Perhaps the SE70 has seen its day, and it's time to look into some newer amp modelers. But, hey, Scott has one... Your thoughts?
