Hi scott and thanks for your music!
I want to record my guitar but i see some options and i dont know, what option is your best choise and why?
1. Recording with low watt amp and 2 shure sm57 mics, or one?
Maybe bugera v5 ir Fender tweet champ 600, tube amps.
2. Recording with Fender champ x2 or Marshall code 25, amp modeling.
3. Recording with a head valve low watt amp, like tinny terror, and use IR impulses for the cab sim.
Any advice or change in this Recording situations?
And the simple rate, 96? 192?
I'm not a fan of small amps, because they make a small sound. If you use IR's, you could use a 100 watt head and get a better sound than you could with a small amp and real speaker.
I never mix microphones, I use just one 57. The higher the sample rate the better, so if your computer can handle 192, go for it. I record at 96 - it sounds good and the computer runs fast, and it's the highest sample rate my converter can do.
Ok scott thank for that advices, your can recomended one cheap low watt amp with the Marshall tone fot practicing purpouses?
What do you trink or the bugera v5? Fender champion 600 maybe?
I don't know those amps, but Marshall makes a mini Silver Jubilee head or combo - I don't think it sounds big enough for gigs but it's a great practice amp. It has very nice tone - rare in the new Marshall lineup.
