Hypothetical question for Scott -
you're heading a festival overseas, it's a major gig but with no roadies, no-one speaks English, no spare guitar or any other guitar around, so you have to soldier on regardless.... second song in and the wires to both the tone pots disconnect, all the pickups are only affected by the selector switch and volume control - do you just stick to positions 2 & 4, pick just with your fingers etc or smash something and storm off the stage?
I ask because this has happened on a couple of my guitars (except the festival headline bit of course)
Ouch! Too bad no one speaks English, because I could stop the music and do a pretty decent stand-up for the rest of the set. I guess I'd try to borrow some earplugs - if that's a no, stick to 2 and 4 for a few tunes and then wildly smash the guitar into pieces, or better yet, destroy the whole stage. It's good entertainment and no one will ever forget that show. Look what a great player Hendrix was, but my younger students know him as "the guy who set his guitar on fire".
