I have a Strat and a Tele with Flluence pu's, and other guitars with passive pu's. Is it possible to use one type of volume pedal - high or low impedence - with both. Is there a rule of thumb for which way to lean in this instance ?
That's a good question which I don't know the answer to. For sure you should use a high impedance volume pedal with normal pickups, and low impedance for active pickups, but I think the best way to decide which one is best for both is to go to Guitar Center and buy both pedals, then bring back the one that doesn't sound as good. They still do the full refund.
If you used the volume pedal in the amp FX loop (which is how I do it), you could use the low impedance pedal for both guitars.
