i have really enjoyed SH for a while now but im not very strong on his catalog of work....what are the top fav recordings he has done...with any band....and also i was wondering if he has any acoustic stuff or maybe some stuff where he uses a jazz box...i ask becuase i have only heard the stuff with all the fun toys he has...thnks

scotts pretty much an electric guy for the most part. there are a couple of tribal tech albums (face first) that have some acoustic solos; not jazz box however. standards are peppered throughout his catalog here and there. giant steps on the first 'vital tech tones' album is a must hear. im not too familiar with his work as a sideman. I didnt really dig his stuff with corea, players, and tom coster. i want to check out his zawinul stuff; im sure that rips.

i didnt really dig illicit, rocket science (except for the first track, which is killer), and the early ones (nomad and dr. hee)
