Sorry, I don't have any idea. I'm not much of an amp tech - Suhr does that for me. I think any qualified amp tech could answer that question for you.

Thank you Scott for your replay, I have another question, I watched this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMDP4o9UJ-s and my understanding is that, when you use the HRD you leave the SD9 always on and use the guitar volume, if you need more you kick in the RC Booster, is that correct?

That's correct - the HRD's crunch and lead channels suck, so I use the clean channel which isn't as crunchy as my Suhr head. In my Suhr setup, the RC Booster is my main pedal, but it doesn't have enough gain for a good lead sound in the HRD, so I use the SD-9 instead. If I want more gain, like I'd get by using the SD-9 with my Suhr, I kick in the RC Booster, but it's settings aren't the same. The Gain is way down, so I'm just using as a volume boost to kick the SD-9 harder.

Yes, RC into SD-9. The Timmy pedals aren't as good in my opinion.

Hi Scott, thank you for your replay to me, if you have any more patience I have one more question for you. With the above set up the tone is fantastic but when I step on the wha wha pedal the feed back goes crazy how you deal with it?

P.S. So sorry to learn about the lost of Jim Hall, did you ever meet him?

I've had a problem with wahs from the beginning, since I use high gain. If I put the wah in front of the distortion pedal, the frequencies get pretty harsh since the pedal is distorting the high end of the wah. If I put the wah after the pedal, I get a lot of feedback (not the good kind), and also the sweep of the wah is too fast, almost like a treble on/off switch.

Recently I bought a Chase Tone Script Wah, and it's the best wah I've ever owned. Problem solved.

Close enough - mine's not a lll. This one is supposed to have a more durable circuit board than mine, but it should sound about the same. Expensive! Mine was only 499, but that was four years ago.

I have a couple of question for you.

1) You mentioned that John Suhr modded the HRD clean channel by giving it a bit more gain, are you or John welling to share the details of this mod?

2) Have you try the Klon with the HRD if yes can you share the Klon settings?

I must telling you I use the Klon instead of the SD9 and the Bjfe Honey Bee instead the RC Booster and the balls of the Klon combine with the touch sensitive of the honey bee is just so inspiring, I wonder if you had the opportunity to try this combination.

I don't know how John modded the HRD - you'd have to ask him. To be honest, it didn't make much of a difference - it's still a pretty clean amp.

I set the Klon with the volume all the way up, gain about 2 o'clock and tone about 11 o'clock. I like the Klon but find that it's not as full range as the SD-9 - the Klon has a thicker midrange but not as much bass. I haven't heard the Honey Bee - I'll check if they have one at True Tone next time I'm there.
