It's "Compassion and Self-Hate" by Theodore Rubin. Wikipedia describes the book as "more closely resembling Tibetan Buddhism than psychoanalysis", but I've found it very helpful no matter what it is. It's a bit of a "dry read" with lots of words I had to look up, but it's message is very clear and I believe helpful to anyone who's in the arts and trying to grow without the negative affects of beating ourselves up instead of invoking kind, constructive criticism.
