Hi Scott,
I was wondering if you have ever checked out the Amp 1 by Bluguitar? It is a 100 watt mini head with a tube power section. Jennifer Batten is playing it these days. (I know you don't like gadgets, so I would not bother posting anything about modeling!) but it seems like a cool, real amp for practicing or small gigs. Curious if you have checked it out! |

I haven't tried it yet. A good friend of mine who's extremely familiar with the amp told me "it won't work for you - the only way to get your tone is with four power tubes and big iron" (meaning a transformer)
Another friend of mine who teaches at MI has one, so I might borrow it for a day just because I'm still curious. I've been in touch with Jennifer Batten recently - she uses it and really likes it. |

Hi Scott,
Did you ever hear this amp? Just bringing this topic back to the top. It looks nice for smaller shows/rehearsals etc |

I never heard it. I guess I just took the word of my friend who works with it closely and said it's not for me. I've heard others say that it doesn't sound that great through a 4x12, and that it's best feature is it's speaker simulator, like for hearing yourself through a monitor, which totally wouldn't work for me. I'm staying old school. |

Thanks Scott!
Yes, there is nothing like a great cranked up tube head! |
