Hey Scott

I love what you did with 'Shadows And Light' when you played it live with JZ. Basically, apart from when you solo, you 'comp' throughout the piece and in the process massively improve on the studio version. But what was your concept for the intro? You come up with these great chords (basically in E-flat minor?), maybe based on a whole-tone scale. And then Joe plays this great 'major' melody over the top.

Did you come up with this chord concept, or did Joe? He did some similar things after you left the band, particularly on 'Indiscretions' from the 'World Tour' Syndicate album.

Cheers from London
Matt

It's actually based off diminished - just Eb7 altered chords. I did it differently every night. The sound comes from using multi delay taps and rolling into them with a volume pedal - a concept invented by Allan Holdsworth.
