I know this covers a virtually enormous area, but I was wondering if you could share some enlightments on what you learned playing with Zaw and Chick regarding their use of time in soloing..

I remember you mentioned Chick for his brilliant and complex timing ideas in your second REH video.

Sorry Claudio, I don't remember learning anything specific from them regarding time. I was very familiar with their playing before I joined their bands - Chick plays more from a Latin style and Joe was coming more from the blues and R&B. Personally I'm a much bigger fan of Joe's writing and playing, but Chick is one of the greatest jazz pianists ever. Listening to them is the only way to understand their concepts of phrasing and time - it's way more art than science.
