Hey Scott,

I finally juiced up MixIR2 and just purchased the greenbacks, V30s, G12 65s and Alnico Blue impulse responses from Celestion...

When you are tweaking, do you go guitar, overdrives, amp, reactive load (do you split into a cab for the "feel"?) into your soundcard into the daw? Do you add modulations, delay and reverb in your effects loop, or do you add it in the DAW?

From there what IR settings do you typically use. There are literally infinite combinations and the instruction manual even states if you try everything you will end up with nothing other than ear fatigue?

And what sample rates do you use?

Oy....

My chain is guitar, pedal, amp, reactive load (no need to split into a cab), mic pre (my 1073 warms it up even more), soundcard, DAW.

The FX are plug-ins - they're on aux tracks so I hear them but I don't record them.

My IR setting are as simple as possible - I don't mix speakers or mics. I've had absolutely no luck with that - to me the best sound is always one speaker at a time with one mic, usually a (virtual) 57.

The only important setting is the mix, which of course should be 100% wet or you'll hear the fizzy sound from the reactive load. I'm recording at 96k.
