Hey Scott,

I’ve been doing some tracking of light overdrive/cleanish sounds. I figured it could be nice to monitor with some type of light compression to make it “more studio friendly”, or at least reference it from time to time before sending off the stems to be mixed.

Do you do any of that in your recording process, and if so what type of plugins/settings do you to tend to like?

Thanks in advance!!

Jason

I've never been lucky with compressors. It seems like when I use one to the point where all the notes in the chord sound even, I can really hear the compressor and it sounds very un-natural to me. My boost pedals have enough compression to do the job, not as well as a compressor, but at least they don't have the obvious "I'm using a compressor" sound.
