Robben Ford Discussion

A friend just told me he heard that Robben is playing a gig in San Luis Obispo today with Travis Carlton and Toss Panos. A look at Robben's site shows no dates in July after several in Europe over the first week or so of the month. I'm hoping maybe he's going to pop up here (the SF Bay area) for a show or two also. That particular trio is awesome, and I recommend highly the DVD they put out a couple of years back from the New Morning club in Paris...

I was lucky enough to hear about this show a few months back. I belong to "Vallitix Live", and they sent me an email about it. He played at the first inaugural "Seven Sisters Fest", a craft beer festival with live music at El Chorro State Park, between San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay. There was a nice mix of groups, with Robben's trio playing Saturday afternoon, after the close of the beer tasting. He should have been the headliner, but wasn't. Crowd rather small, but enthusiastic. The trio played a great show that afternoon. Cool festival. I hope he plays there again next year as I plan to make this an annual event
